Meet Detention Officer Raz Andrei

Raz joined Dorset Police as a Detention Officer in 2022, having previously worked as a manager at a care home in Hampshire. His role is to look after detainees’ welfare within our custody suites, make them comfortable and ensure they are safe.

“I can be a challenging role, especially during the busier times but I wouldn’t want to do any other job. Every single day is different and every day I am learning something new. I also really enjoy working as part of a big team because we all bring different skills and life experience to ensuring people remain safe while in our custody.

“This role and the shifts we work also enables me to have a great work-life balance, which has been really helpful with a young family.”
