Special Constable Transferee, Re-Joiner & PC-SC entry routes

Our force covers a hugely diverse geographic area, from the Jurassic Coast World Heritage site, Chesil beach and many beautiful, sandy beaches, outstanding countryside and vibrant communities. Dorset is largely rural but hosts large urban areas of Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch, the fantastic county town of Dorchester and many towns and villages.

If you are currently serving or have previously served as a Special Constable, we would love to hear from you.

We also invite applicants with current or previous service as a Police Officer to join the Special Constabulary.

A Special Constable Transferee is someone who is currently serving as a Special Constable within another UK police force, who wishes to transfer to Dorset Police.

A Special Constable Re-Joiner is someone who has previously served as a Special Constable in a UK Police Force, who now wishes to re-join Dorset Police.

If you are currently serving and are planning to leave or have previously served as a Police Officer in a UK police force, we would like to hear from you regarding joining Dorset Police as a Special Constable.
