We are seeking a volunteer to support local policing teams by assisting with the upkeep of marked and unmarked fleet vehicles. The role involves ensuring vehicles are kept clean, appropriately stocked with essential policing equipment, and ready for operational deployment. Other tasks include performing basic vehicle checks such as checking tyre pressures, fluid levels, ensuring all vehicle lights and sirens work and assisting with transporting vehicles from stations to our vehicle workshops. You will also need to update our vehicle database. Basic IT skills will be needed. You will, be happy to work outside, have a general interest in looking after vehicles and a desire to help your local police service. We will provide you with volunteer uniform including waterproof clothing and boots to perform the role. Travelling expenses will be reimbursed. Mileage is paid at 45p per mile. Applicants should live within a 25 mile radius of their allocated station. Please Note: This role requires a driving licence check prior to being interviewed for the position. A declaration and licence check form will be emailed to you if you are successful through the shortlisting stage, and prior to an interview being offered. If this check shows an invalid licence you will be withdrawn from the recruitment process. This role requires a full manual driving licence held for a minimum of 12 months |
